Using Eyes to Handle Movement & Create Explosives - Allen Rudolph
by COOL Clinic
Description
In this in-depth clinic, veteran offensive line coach Allen Rudolph dives into one of the most overlooked yet critical aspects of line play—eye discipline. Through detailed explanations, drills, and film breakdowns, Rudolph shows how proper eye training can be the key to neutralizing defensive movement and generating explosive plays in the run game.
From foundational concepts like identifying movement and training reaction timing, to advanced techniques for handling edge pressure, re-ID scenarios, and first-level pulls, Rudolph equips coaches with a comprehensive approach to sharpening their unit’s vision and reaction. He emphasizes that mastering the eyes not only eliminates hesitation but also helps create consistent knockback and displacement at the point of attack.
Featuring on-field drills like “Step Drill” and “Stake & Rake,” as well as rich film study sessions, this course gives coaches tools to translate eye discipline into physical dominance. Whether you're facing slants, blitzes, or edge pressures, Coach Rudolph’s system helps linemen anticipate, react, and finish with force.
Perfect for OL coaches at any level looking to enhance their run game production through better vision and execution.

His units helped set multiple school records and developed multiple All-Sun Belt selections, including Lanard Bonner and Jacob Still.
Before returning to the college ranks, Rudolph coached three seasons in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, reaching the playoffs each year and back-to-back Grey Cup appearances. His coaching resume includes stops at Southeastern Louisiana, Samford, Louisiana-Monroe, and others, with a consistent record of producing high-powered offenses and pro-caliber offensive linemen.
