The Coach
Bill DeLongis is in his 15th year as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, with experience across all three NCAA divisions. He has also worked seasonally with USA Women’s Hockey since 2017, assisting the National Team and serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the U18 National Team from 2018-2023, as well as the 2024 Collegiate Team that captured the Euro Tour Championship. Additionally, he has coached at multiple U15 and U18 Development Camps.
Beyond his S&C responsibilities, DeLongis is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Exercise Science at Central Connecticut State University, Chair of the NSCA Ice Hockey Special Interest Group (SIG), and the founder of the Strength on Ice Summit and Podcast.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Fitness and Wellness from Winthrop University, and a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Experiential Education from Plymouth State University. A former competitor in both powerlifting and strongman, DeLongis also contributes regularly to the field of sport performance through written work featured on ProHockeyStrength.com, STACK Magazine, Train Heroic, and Breaking Muscle. His innovative recovery methods have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on CBS, notably for his use of power tools for soft tissue work.
