UNDERSTANDING ATHLETIC TALENT EVALUATION/SCOUTING

by Eric Stang
UNDERSTANDING ATHLETIC TALENT EVALUATION/SCOUTING

Description

This 40 min course was created to help provide athletes, coaches, and parents at the scholastic levels with general and in-depth insight on athletic talent evaluation. We break down the general process that successful programs at the collegiate and professional sports level use to evaluate prospects and find ideal athletes for their programs and teams. A lot of coaches at the scholastic level deal with athletes and parents that do not fully understand the major and critical factors that coaches and scouts at higher levels use and rely on to find athletes that check the ideal boxes that allow them to be successful and win championships plus develop a great team culture.

Too often athletes and their parents at the scholastic levels think that playing a lot of minutes or producing great stats will get them recruited/selected when that is not necessarily true or not as important to coaches and scouts at the college and pro levels. This course provides insight into the concepts of successful funnel systems that are used to filter athletes at these higher levels of competition. This insight will help provide you with information to help you do your own due diligence in finding programs that are an ideal fit for you, your players, or your son/daughter.
