The Coach

Ken DeHart is a veteran tennis coach, PTR International Master Professional, USPTA Master Professional, and internationally recognized teacher with more than five decades of experience in the sport. He operates Ken DeHart Tennis, offering instruction, drills, clinics, and development programs for players of all skill levels from beginners to competitive players at facilities including Silver Creek Valley Country Club in San Jose, California.

DeHart discovered tennis as a college freshman and quickly rose to competitive success, winning a conference doubles championship and earning team MVP honors. His professional career includes leadership roles such as Director of Tennis at major clubs across the U.S., Executive Director of the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), and long tenure coaching and mentoring players and coaches through clinics and certifications.

He was one of the first individuals in the world to earn the title of PTR International Master Professional and is also a longtime USPTA Master Professional. DeHart has been named PTR Professional of the Year twice and USPTA Divisional Pro of the Year four times. He has lectured and taught around the globe, presenting at major events including the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open coaches conferences.

In addition to his coaching and speaking career, DeHart has published instructional materials, contributed to leading tennis magazines, and helped educate thousands of coaches and professionals in drills, strategy, and player development. He remains active in player training, emphasizing clear communication, purpose-driven practice, and enjoyment of the game.
