The Coach
Rafael Font de Mora is a former professional tennis player, an internationally recognized tennis coach, and player development expert. Born in Valencia, Spain, Rafael competed on the men’s professional tennis tour from 1985 to 1988, gaining firsthand experience at the highest levels of the sport. He later served as a tennis analyst for NBC during the Barcelona Olympic Games, further establishing his authority and insight into elite tennis performance.
In 1990, Rafael founded itUSA, where he developed a proven and innovative tennis teaching methodology designed to support players across the entire development spectrum—from beginners to professional competitors. His instructional approach emphasizes clarity, efficiency, and long-term development, making his methods highly effective for players of all ages and skill levels.
Through his unique teaching style, Rafael has been invited to conduct tennis clinics and coaching programs worldwide and has contributed as an editor and writer for leading international tennis publications. His global influence extends across Europe, South America, and the United States, where he has established tennis facilities and comprehensive training programs.
Currently, Rafael actively operates tennis training programs in Florida and Arizona. Over the course of his career, he has coached and managed National and International Junior Champions, Professional Tour Titleholders, Davis Cup and Federation Cup players, NCAA Champions, All-Americans, as well as ATP and WTA professionals. His work is widely respected for producing competitive, well-rounded players with strong fundamentals and tactical understanding.
