Will Stewart - Fundamentals for Beginners

Description

Teaching beginners can be one of the hardest challenges in tennis coaching, especially in group settings with limited courts and large numbers of players. This course gives you a clear, practical system for teaching beginner tennis that eliminates long lines, maximizes repetitions, and gets players rallying, serving, and competing faster.

Instead of overloading beginners with technical mechanics, this course focuses on movement, contact point awareness, and simple progressions that work for junior high, high school, PE classes, and entry-level programs.

You’ll learn how to coach beginners the way they actually learn best. If you’re ready to stop wasting practice time, eliminate long lines, and build confident beginner players faster, this course gives you the exact drills, progressions, and coaching language to do it.

Enroll now and start running smarter, more effective beginner tennis practices today.

The Coach

Will Stewart is a USPTA-Certified Tennis Professional and an experienced coach with over 13 years of experience training players of all ages and levels from complete beginners to collegiate competitors.

As the Head Tennis Coach at Spring Hill, Will has built a consistently successful program, guiding players to top results including a state runner-up in boys singles, multiple state-qualifying mixed doubles teams, and 17 regional qualifiers. Under his leadership, the team has never finished below 2nd in district play and has captured three district titles.

Before coaching, Will was a red-shirted player at Tyler Junior College and a four-year varsity player at Snyder High School, giving him a strong foundation in competitive tennis from the court to the sidelines.

Will’s coaching philosophy centers on movement, contact point awareness, and maximizing repetitions — a system that helps beginners build confidence quickly and prepares competitive players to reach their potential. He specializes in group coaching, high-repetition drills, and creating an environment where players can learn by doing, not just watching.

Off the court, Will lives in the Spring Hill community with his wife, Haley, who teaches students with visual impairments, and their children. His commitment to community, family, and lifelong learning drives his approach to coaching and mentoring players.
