by TTCA Texas Tennis Coaches Association
Description
Learn how to teach tennis faster, simpler, and with more confidence, even if you’re working with beginners, middle school players, or athletes who have never been able to rally.
In this course, Zina Garrison shares the real foundation that built her game in a public park: repetition, contact point mastery, and simple progressions that make players want to keep coming back. You’ll also learn from the inventor of a high-rep training approach designed to help players feel the sweet spot sooner, build consistency, and reduce frustration, without needing a full court, perfect weather, or expensive setups.
Perfect for tennis coaches, PE teachers, middle school programs, academies, parents, and beginners who want a clear system for building confident hitters and keeping players excited to practice.
Stop losing players because tennis feels too hard and too slow to learn.
Enroll now and start teaching the skills that make tennis fun: clean contact, quick progress, and consistent rallies.

The Coach
Zina Garrison grew up playing tennis at public park tennis centers in Houston, Texas, beginning at McGregor Park. She was introduced to the game by John Wilkinson, a coach who gave children the opportunity to play tennis for free and whose impact reached thousands of kids across Houston.
Garrison began playing tennis at around ten and a half years old, earning court time through repetition, completing hundreds of forehands and backhands on a backboard before being allowed to play with older players. These early experiences shaped her emphasis on consistency, control, and work ethic.
She developed alongside Lori McNeil, with both players rising from the public-park system to become top-10 players in the world. Garrison later reached the Wimbledon singles final in 1990 and won two Wimbledon doubles Grand Slam titles, crediting clean contact and repetition as central to her success.
Her lifelong focus remains on giving back, growing the game, and helping kids fall in love with tennis, just as she did in the parks of Houston.
