Vésteinn Hafsteinsson is one of the world’s great throws coaches. He guided Gerd Kanter to discus gold at the 2007 World Championships and 2008 Olympics. He guided Daniel Ståhl to discus gold at the 2019 World Championships. His current group of throwers also includes Fanny Roos (shot put PB 19.06m) and Simon Pettersson (discus PB 66.93m).
In this free lecture Coach Vésteinn will break down the technique of world champion Daniel Ståhl on a 72.95m foul he made at the Stockholm DL meeting in 2019. Throw is split into 12 frames and Coach V gives his thoughts.

The Coach
Vésteinn Hafsteinsson was a full time discus thrower from 1986-1996. He took part in five World Championships, two European Championships and four Olympic Games. Currently he is working full-time as an international throwing coach. Among athletes that he has coached are Olympic Champion Gerd Kanter, World Champion Daniel Ståhl and European Champion Joachim B. Olsen.
