The Coach
Erik Vance is a former Head Track & Field Coach at South Plains College, where he coached for nine and a half years. He previously coached at the University of Louisiana Monroe, earned his graduate degree at LSU, and completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor. A former collegiate pole vaulter, Erik transitioned into coaching horizontal jumps by learning from experienced mentors, studying daily practice structure, athlete interaction, and weight room training. He has 17 years of college coaching experience and is passionate about helping coaches build confident athletes through consistent routines and repeatable fundamentals.
He now works as a sales representative with UCS and remains active in the track world, offering support and guidance to coaches who want to keep learning and improving.
