The Coach

Mechelle Freeman is a 2008 Olympian, world champion, and one of the most respected relay strategists in track and field. As the women’s relay coach for Team USA at the Olympic Games and World Championships, she has helped guide athletes to gold medals and historic performances on the global stage.

Beyond international competition, Freeman has dedicated her career to developing the next generation of athletes and leaders. She serves as the NSAF Nike Program Director and is the founder of TrackGirlz, a nonprofit organization focused on mentoring and empowering young women through track and field.

Through her work as a coach, mentor, and speaker, she combines elite sprint knowledge, relay strategy, and athlete development to help athletes grow both on and off the track.
