Sports Dietitian

Originally from Michigan, Meredith Parmley moved to Houston in 2015 to run cross country and track at the University of Houston, later completing her sports nutrition residency through Memorial Hermann, where she has remained since. She works with a range of clients, from recreational athletes to professionals, and currently supports Stratford High School, Houston Christian University's cross country and track team, and local running groups in the Houston and Austin areas.

As a runner, she had a strong high school career in Michigan under coach Roger White before running at Houston, where she was coached by Steve Magness. Her college career included two redshirt seasons, an IT band injury and a metatarsal stress fracture, followed by a second stress fracture in her heel the next year. She has since fully recovered, competing injury-free for years and still racing half marathons.

She credits her recovery to prioritizing consistent pre- and post-run fueling, including liquid nutrition for sensitive stomachs, and closing gaps between meals, lessons that now shape her work helping coaches and athletes recognize and prevent under-fueling.
