The Coach


With over a decade of coaching experience, Eamon McKenna brings a wealth of expertise to the UW-Oshkosh track & field programs, marking his 13th year with the university. Serving as an assistant coach for the men's and women's teams, McKenna has demonstrated exceptional leadership, including eight years as head coach of the UW-Oshkosh women’s cross country team and 11 seasons as head coach for the men's cross country team. McKenna's accomplishments speak volumes about his dedication and coaching prowess:

  • Named 2022 NCAA Division III North Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Assistant Coach of the Year.
  • Guided track & field athletes to four NCAA Division III individual titles and 47 All-America awards.
  • Led men's indoor track & field team to a runner-up finish in 2013 and top-three finishes in subsequent years.
  • Secured WIAC titles and NCAA appearances for both men's and women's cross country teams.
  • Earned WIAC Coach of the Year honors in 2015.
  • Coached multiple All-Americans and WIAC individual champions.
  • Holds a master’s degree from UW-Milwaukee and has taught Spanish at the middle and high school levels.
