Coach Cappos provides a training plan for the discus throw and how to use the drills most effectively during practice. A 12-week training outline and specific training plans are a special add-on to this coaching course that can help you map out your program design and get high level results when it matters.
Coach Cappos shares his coaching methods for the discus throw in this three part-coaching course. First, medicine ball drills are used to develop proper throwing motion and improve event specific strength and speed. Next, the discus throw is broken down into a series of drills with simple step-by-step instruction to show the discus thrower how to turn properly. Finally, Coach Cappos reviews the actual throwing drills and training methods that can be used to learn the correct body patterns to become a great discus thrower. The series includes demonstrations by two world-class throwers plus instruction from Coach Cappos.
With over 20 years of coaching experience and over 100 NCAA Qualifiers, there is no doubt, Scott Cappos is one of the best coaches in the United States. Specializing in the throwing events, Coach Cappos has coached more 60’ shot-putters and 190’ discus throwers than any other coach in Big Ten history. His athletes tied or broke four Big Ten Records, won over 40 individual conference championships and earned All-American status over 30 times.
Coach Cappos is very active in USA Track and Field, serving as a Team USA Coach, USATF Level I Instructor and USATF Coaches Chair.
