Back to Basics Mini Course Series: Passingby Coach G
Time to get back to basics, and break down one of the most important skills in volleyball - passing. This mini course is perfect for everyone - it can help the beginner player learn proper passing form, a coach can pick up a few cues to bring back to their team, and anyone with volleyball experience can use this to touch up on their knowledge while keeping it simple. For more tips, you can also give me a follow on Instagram @digcityvolleyball.
I do understand that there are other ways to teach passing, as well as different philosophies around passing. As a coach if you feel differently or teach passing another way, or as a player there are tips that worked well for you, please share! This is a collaborative effort, and as players and coaches we are always looking for ways to better ourselves, including me!
Hey Everyone! Coach G here. I'm a Varsity Girls High School Coach in Western Massachusetts. I spent about 10 years in Freshman and Junior Varsity levels teaching girls who had never played volleyball before. I too was in that same position going into high school, and wanted to start to change that, exposing more girls in the area to volleyball. Since running local volleyball camps and clinics, I have been extremely driven to provide my students and community members exposure to a sport I have grown to love. I started out with anywhere from 6-8 girls at camps to now having double the amount or more! I also have been able to start offering private lessons for those that would like to expand their knowledge on a more individual level. All of my dedicated campers have eventually become part of my high school volleyball program, and I couldn't be prouder of them!
I am a middle school Physical Education and Health Teacher by trade, and have also organize and am in charge of Volleyball Club as part of the After School Program.
