DECIDE
The Most Important Thing You Can Do to Become a College Basketball Coach
Every day I receive emails from young coaches asking for advice on how to become a college coach. I tell them that networking, being a good coach, going to clinics, studying the game, and meeting college coaches is important. But, without the most important step none of those matter one bit.
The first step is to DECIDE!
Decide you truly want college coaching as your career.
Decide that you are willing to sacrifice greatly to make this happen.
Decide you will make a 100% commitment to daily working at this goal.
Decide you will do more than everyone else attempting to get the same job.
Decide you will become a master at networking and find Babe Ruth.
Decide you won’t listen to naysayers telling you that you will fail.
And………………
Decide that you are willing to do anything to make your goal a reality.
Your journey cannot begin with out making a decision. Be honest with yourself when deciding—if you fool yourself, you’ll realize you are not truly committed to your goal.
…………………….have you DECIDED?
