      Plant and Throw

When throwing a timing pattern or a pattern for which the read has been made in the drop, plant on the last step of the drop and throw.  Gain your momentum during the gather steps and be in an upright position, which enables you to plant and throw.

If you are looking to get the ball off quickly, your depth steps will be short and somewhat similar to gather steps-this would be considered a quick five-step drop.
