Lesson 1:
Step 1 Kitchen sink progressive sequence
Your kitchen sink is a good place to start to overcome your fear of drowning because you only have to place just your face in the water and you have both feet on the floor. Now you can learn to hold your breath for 10-15-20 seconds with your mouth open to make a better air lock in your nose. Otherwise if you close your mouth water will go up your nose just one millmeter to tickle those hairs. And they tell your brain you are an idiot trying to drown yourself!
By keeping your mouth open and relaxed without body tension you can easily blow out much larger bubbles and feel them float up over your cheeks instead of directly forward up your nose.
When that happens in the pool your first incorrect response will be to lift up your head out of the water. Newton's Third Law of Motion physics principle then causes your feet and legs to go downward.
When your head goes up your feet go down. You can't swim very well in a vertical position. You must level like at home on your mattress.
