Lesson 11:
Shielding Your Body
There are some varations of the basic vertical shield I want to dicuss, they are the "body shield" and "single arm shield" applications. The body shield should be used to protect your diaphram area from strikes as well as grappling takedowns. You still must be ready to shield your head while shielding your body. The single arm shield is used to get a hit off faster or used to cover one area of your body while the free arm is being occupied for some other means.
