Lisa Rizzo

Challenge U. Softball™

Being featured in a half page article in The Record, Lisa is known for pushing SELF-CONFIDENCE in the athlete FIRST:

“I have always been a hard worker. Yet, I have never considered what I have been doing for the past 8 years ‘work’. The joy of seeing the transformation in a kid due to you is a feeling that you cannot put a price on. Now that I have a facility with 9 trainers on staff and an additional 5 on my travel outdoor staff, I strive to push them to be the best trainers and use the Challenge U. Softball Circuit Training Methodology™. My true passion now is developing my trainers by following the C.U. Methodology that is unlike any other softball facility. My ultimate goal is to develop premier trainers and facilities across the country.

Anyone can teach a kid good physical mechanics, study enough YouTube videos and drills and there you go. BUT, at Challenge U. Softball, my trainers get in their heads, get them to see how good they can be, and get them to work hard for a better reward. Because when the game ends and you’re thrown into life, all you need is SELF-CONFIDENCE.”

A four time NJAC All Conference Performer, Lisa was the star catcher from Dumont High School into Ramapo College of New Jersey. Playing as the starting catcher for Ramapo College all four years, 2002-2006, Lisa also was a prime hitter and natural leader on the field. Lisa hit over .340 all four years of her collegiate play. Lisa has received the honors of NCAA east region athlete, NCAA first team all-conference, NCAA coach’s award, and NCAA honorable mention recipient, in true character, Lisa was the first player to hit a home run over the fence in the 2006 NCAA World Series.
Upon graduation Lisa coached at Farleigh Dickinson University and Drew University. Lisa followed her dream of pursuing softball after graduation. Her true passion lie in training athletes one on one and having the power to create mentally confident and physically elite premier athletes. As her name spread in private sessions, she decided to take a risk, quit her other job and start an official outdoor softball training company with just one additional coach working for her. In 2007 Lisa launched her outdoor company, Mobile Softball Training. After 5 years of being outdoors, planting seeds, and growing her client base, Coach was ready to take the plunge and go into a space.

In 2011, Coach opened Challenge U. Softball™, formerly called Diamond Academy.

Challenge U. Softball™ is the largest softball only training facility in New Jersey with 14 former softball stars/coaches on the indoor/outdoor staff working under the Challenge U. Softball Circuit Training Methodology™. Coach Lisa has created the Challenge U. Softball Circuit Training Methodology™ which is geared towards tackling mechanics as well as self-esteem within athletes through circuit drill progression. The mechanic training, drills, and level of instruction throughout Challenge U. is constant and now trains an average of 6K athletes in the tri-state in private lessons, outdoor clinics, team trainings, town recreation clinics, and much more. Their level of training mixed with genuine passion has launched Challenge U. Softball™ to become one of the most well-known softball facilities nationwide.
