Chris Beard vs the World [Playbook & Prediction Inside]
Hey Coach,
NOTE: [This email is for defense-minded coaches only]
To say I’m a fan of Chris Beard and his defensive prowess is an understatement…
I truly believe Coach Beard’s defense can LITERALLY hang with anyone.
Here’s my mindset in a nutshell:
Texas Tech vs. ANY Offense
Let me explain…
As you know, the buzz was all around Texas Tech’s defense in the tourney last year.
Super impressive…
Most of you are also aware those performances didn’t just come out of the blue.
Chris Beard has been dominating on D for years, including Little Rock before taking the reins at Texas Tech.
And last season, he managed to do it on the biggest stage there is.
Based on that, here’s my (not so wild) prediction:
The Texas Tech defense will be ranked No. 1 this year…by an amazing margin.
I mean, “like a boss!” type stuff.
But I wanted to really prove my point, so I got creative and put a new playbook together for you!
It’s simply called: “Texas Tech Defense vs ANY Offense”
Check out this unique format…
I’ve taken 3 VERY influential games and broken them down for you.
86 pages in total.
3 major sections. One for each game.
Texas Tech vs Virginia (of course)
Texas Tech vs TCU
Little Rock vs Purdue
Same defense against very different offensive systems.
I think you’re going to LOVE this approach.
Real “D” in real games.
Here’s your shot to get this “hot off the presses” playbook:
“Texas Tech Defense vs Any Offense”
See you courtside,
Scott
P.S. You won’t find this playbook ANYWHERE else.
You’re the first to hear about it…Time to level up the D!

[Insider’s View] Texas Tech vs. Virginia: “getting defensive”
-----
Hey Coach,
While the “uninitiated masses” watched last season’s NCAA championship game from the usual “who won-who lost” perspective, we coaches see it from an entirely unique angle.
We see the play calls…
Understand the defenses…
Analyze the situational play…
An “insider’s view” for sure.
But in this particular game, there was one thing that was blatantly obvious to viewers at nearly every level.
Defense won that title!
You didn’t have to be a tactical guru to see that.
I mean, we all knew Bennett v Beard was going to be a good one…but the defensive dominance was front and center.
Consider these stats from KenPom.com:
70% of teams that have reached the Final Four in the past 10 years finished the season ranked in the top 20 in defense.
75% of teams that reached the title game during that stretch and every national champion since at least 2002 were in the top 20.
Last season, national runner-up Texas Tech had the No. 1 defense. National champion Virginia was No. 5.
So, what was the next obvious thing for me to do?
Do the research and have a complete “insider’s view” playbook created—based entirely on this one game!
And here it is…Virginia and Texas Tech together in one book!
116 pages broken out into 4 major sections.
Both teams. Offense and Defense.
This stuff is killer…
This playbook presents the “coaches view” of a great game and spells out exactly how defense won the National Championship!
I look at this as your own little “defense master class”…
And this is the first announcement of this book!
From cover to cover, you're going to love this complete breakdown of the Championship Game!

Texas Tech: Downtrodden to Defensive Dominance
Hey Coach,
He runs a defense that has been called both “highly aggressive” and “baffling”…
Texas Tech Head Coach Chris Beard took a team that had been labeled as “irrelevant”-- posting losing records in five of the previous six seasons before his arrival -- and teleported them to their first trip to the final four…accomplishing all this in just two years.
And he did it riding on the back of an overwhelming defense…
Along the way, crushing the no. 2 defense and then defeating the no. 1 offense.
Statement made.
I have to say, I LOVED watching these guys play this past season…and I’m looking forward to seeing them again next season.
But, let me clarify, I would NOT want to be playing against them!
Here’s what Gonzaga Head Coach Mark Few had to say about the Tech defense, ““We talked about it quite a lot in meetings and showed it on film, but it’s something you have to experience.”
So, just in time for the NBA finals to wrap up, I’ve got a special surprise for you…
The entire Texas Tech Offensive AND Defensive Playbook just hit my desk!
All 7 sections and 107 pages of it!
And now you can study the magic behind this impressive turn around for yourself.
Got a program that needs some defensive work?
Here’s your game plan.
The Texas Tech Playbook!
It breaks down like this…
Half Court Motion Offense
Half Court Man Offense-Sets
Half Court Zone Offense
BLOB’s
Half Court Man Defense
Offensive Drills
Defensive Drills
(I can tell you that the 5 pages of Defensive Drills at the end of this playbook are worth the price of admission!)
Listen, let’s be brutally honest here…I’ve never met a team who COULDN’T use some help of defense.
So, doesn’t it make sense to go directly to the top of the heap?
I does to me.
