Josh Christian-Young enters his fourth season at Tulane in 2023, where he has made a significant impact as a defensive backs coach. In 2022, under his guidance, Tulane's defensive backs unit ranked second in interceptions in the AAC, with standout performances from players like Macon Clark, who earned First Team All-AAC honors and national recognition for forced fumbles. Christian-Young's coaching led to two defensive backs signing as rookie free agents in the NFL Draft. Previously, in 2021, as the outside linebackers coach, he contributed to Tulane's defense ranking highly in passes defended and interceptions, while Darius Hodges excelled in tackles for loss, leading the AAC and ranking nationally.

Before joining Tulane, Christian-Young spent five seasons at Army West Point, where he coached safeties and cornerbacks, contributing to the team's defensive prowess and recruiting efforts. His coaching helped the Army achieve top rankings in total defense and pass defense, along with back-to-back bowl game victories. Christian-Young's experience extends to Georgia Southern, where he worked under Coach Willie Fritz and contributed to the team's Sun Belt Championship win. With a strong academic background and playing experience at Central Missouri, Christian-Young brings a well-rounded perspective to his coaching role.
