The Coach
Josh Gattis | University of Maryland | Offensive Coordinator
Before becoming a coach, Josh Gattis began his playing career at Wake Forest as a safety from 2003-2006.
He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2007. He then signed with the Chicago Bears before retiring as a player in 2008.
Gattis jumped into the coaching world serving a sa graduate assistant under Butch Davis at North Carolina. He then switched over to coaching receivers and was hired by Western Michigan in 2011.
From there he served as a receivers coach/ passing game coordinator/offensive recruiter for
Vandrbilt and Penn State.
In 2018 Gattis was hired as the receivers coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide coaching players like Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith, and John Metchie.
Gattis then took the same role for Michigan from 2019 to 2021, before landing the job he has now in Miami.
Josh Gattis was 2x All-ACC as a player and won the Broyles Award as the top Assistant Coach in the Country in 2021.
