Marcus Woodson
Marcus Woodson serves as assistant coach and co-defensive coordinator for the Ole Miss Rebels, returning to his alma mater with more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience.
Before joining Ole Miss, Woodson served as Arkansas’ co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach from 2023 to 2025. He previously coached defensive backs at Florida State from 2020 to 2022, also serving as defensive passing game coordinator. His final season in Tallahassee saw the Seminoles rank fourth nationally in passing yards allowed.
Woodson coached defensive backs at Auburn in 2018 and 2019, adding recruiting coordinator responsibilities in his second season. His earlier coaching stops included Memphis (2016–2017), Fresno State (2014–2015), Charleston Southern (2009–2013), and Millsaps College (2005–2008).
A native of Moss Point, Mississippi, Woodson played safety at Ole Miss from 1999 to 2002 and was a two-year starter before an injury ended his playing career. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss in 2003.
Throughout his career, Woodson has helped develop NFL defensive backs, including first-round selection Noah Igbinoghene and second-round selection Asante Samuel Jr., while building extensive experience in secondary development and recruiting.
