You will be up against big players so improving your rebounding and ball security is vital for your success. Here, I walk through drills and concepts to improve your body position and fundamentals to make you a BEAST as a Power Forward.

Christian Bishop is a 6-7, 190-pound Small Forward from Lees Summit, MO. He is a recent transfer to The University of Texas for his Senior year.

2020-21: Junior at Creighton
• Averaged 11.0 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds while starting all 31 games.
• Ranks second in CU history in single-season field goal percentage (min. 200 attempts) at 68.1 percent (141-207) and second in career field goal percentage (min. 300 attempts) at 64.5 percent (296-459).
• Ranks ninth in CU history with 82 career blocked shots.
• Ranks fourth nationally among active players in career field goal percentage (min. 240 FG made).
• Led the BIG EAST in FG% (.681), which was also second-best in the country by all 1,289 players with 150 or more attempts and tops among the 770 players with 200 or more attempts.
• Also eighth in the BIG EAST in blocked shots per game, 11th in defensive rebounds per game, 13th in rebounds per game and 26th in points per game.
• Scored in double-figures in 23 games in 2020-21, including a career-long streak of six games in a row from Jan. 30- Feb. 24.
• Led Creighton in scoring in each of first 2 games, including 18 points vs. Omaha (Dec. 1).
• Had 12 points and career-best 15 rebounds in NCAA Tourney win vs. Ohio (March 22) that sent CU to Sweet 16, CU’s third player ever with back-to-back NCAA Tournament double-doubles (Chad Galllagher, Paul Silas).
• His 15 rebounds were the most by a Bluejay since Ronnie Harrell Jr. in 2017, and most in an NCAA Tournament game since Bob Harstad had 16 on March 14, 1991 vs. NMSU.
• Bishop’s 31 rebounds were tied for third-most in one NCAA Tournament and his 75.0 field goal percentage was second-best in program history.
• In CU’s NCAA Tournament record book, ranks first in field goal percentage (.750) among players with at least 10 field goals made.
• Had 38 of team’s 60 dunks last season and also led club with 35 blocked shots. This year, he owned 50 of team’s 90 dunks.

2019-20: Sophomore at Creighton
• Started all 31 games, averaging 8.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots in 21.5 minutes per game.
• Shot team-best 59.2 percent from the field.
• In the BIG EAST, ranked fourth in field goal percentage, seventh in blocks per game, 14th in offensive rebounds per game and 19th in rebounds per game.
• Had 38 of team’s 60 dunks during the year, including five vs. No. 21 Butler (Feb. 23).
• Team was 12-2 when he scored 10 or more points.
• Had three games with 10 or more points despite being scoreless at halftime.
• Had then-career-highs with 12 points and three blocks while adding seven rebounds in first career start vs. Kennesaw State (Nov. 5).
• Scored 10 points vs. Cal Poly (Nov. 22), including his first career three-pointer.
• Grabbed four of his eight rebounds in overtime to help the Bluejays beat No. 12 Texas Tech (Nov. 29), adding nine points.
• Set career-highs in points (19), assists (5), blocks (4) and steals (3) in win vs. No. 21 Butler (Feb. 21), finishing with five dunks.
• Blocked three shots in win vs. No. 8 Seton Hall (March 7), a victory that clinched CU’s first BIG EAST title.
