Coach Anthony Veney is a highly experienced track and field coach with a career spanning over 40 years, during which he has coached at all competition levels, from high school to international competitions. He holds a Master's Degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific University and is a proud 1976 graduate of UCLA with a degree in History. Throughout his illustrious coaching career, Coach Veney has achieved remarkable success, including:
- Coaching members of the Chinese national team 400 meter sprinters, securing 1 silver in the men’s 400m, 1 gold in the mixed 4x400m relay, and gold medals in the men and women’s 4x400m relays.
- Leading the Oregon Ducks men’s outdoor track and field team to a no. 9 national ranking, coaching 25 All-Conference and All-Americans, including five conference champions at Portland State.
- Producing 15 indoor/outdoor All-Americans at UCLA, notably guiding the 2009 Pac-10 4×100 meter relay championship team.
- Being recognized as a USATF Level I-II-III instructor with a Master of Coaching certificate and receiving the Fred Wilt Coach/Educator of the Year Award by USA Track & Field in 2017.
