The Coach
Tony Veney is a track and field coach with over 40 years of experience across high school, collegiate, and international levels. He is a former 800m record holder. He has held coaching positions at institutions such as UCLA, the University of Oregon, Portland State, and Ventura College. Veney has mentored numerous All-Americans and national champions, including leading the Oregon Ducks men's outdoor track and field team to a No. 9 national ranking. He was recognized as a USATF level I-II-III instructor with a master of coaching certificate, He received the Fred Wilt Coach/Educator of the year award in 2017. Currently, Veney serves as an assistant coach at Chapman University, bringing his extensive expertise to their cross country and track & field programs.
