Alyssa received her Bachelors degree from the University of Rochester and her Masters of Science Education from PACE University. She was a high school biology and chemistry teacher for seven years before receiving her yoga certification. She started taking yoga classes to help deal with the stress of being a New York City public school teacher. The practice helped her to slow down, breath, and become more present and connected to herself and others. Her practice focuses on relaxation and mindfulness in order to foster a more authentic and meaningful experience in life- on and off the mat. She now teaches yoga at her studio in Manhattan as well as at drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. Drawing on her skills and knowledge of the human body and mind, she has developed a yoga program that is accessible and easily enjoyed by yogis of all levels.
