In this course, Gwen has taken the skills she's learned as a Massage Therapist, added them to Power Yoga and incorporated the unique needs of athletes from a variety of sports to create – ‘Power Yoga for Sports’.
It’s this hybrid method of yoga that is preventing injuries for athletes, by giving them increased flexibility, stronger joints, a symmetrical body (I can’t stress how important that is!) and increased focus on the field or court.
Gwen Lawrence has been a practicing fitness professional since 1990. Her current practice includes private yoga training, class instruction, and her sport-specific Power Yoga for Sports training program. Gwen's unique combination of dance, massage and yoga training experience, coupled with her extensive knowledge of anatomy, and nutrition, provides her clients, and athletes with overwhelming benefits. Gwen is the yoga instructor for several New York Yankees baseball players. She is also the team yoga instructor for the New York Giants, New York Knicks, New York Red Bulls, New York Rangers, and several major college teams such as Yale and UNC. She also coaches many youth teams in a variety of sports.
