    • Deceleration

      1. This is a deceleration exercise only. Use two hands to put the band (which can be purchased at a sporting goods store) in the starting position.

      2. Control deceleration for at least 2-3 seconds each.

      3. A hitter should mimic the follow-through as if he had a bat in his hand for maximum carryover to the swing.


      Coaching Tip

      Choose tubing that is thick enough here to actually pull the hitter through. If the band is too weak, he won't have enough challenge for the decelerators to improve their strength.
