    Load Stride

     view description
    • Load Stride

      1. Hip movement is limited if the stride is closed.

      2. A too-open stride prevents a player from controlling his body.

      3. An open stance at the end of the swing means that the front foot moved with the swing; the player did not start with an open stride.

      Coaching Tip

A player should stride at a 45-degree angle on the ball of his foot to allow his hips to open and separate from the bat to create power. The hands must stay over the hips and back foot - do not take them back. If the bat goes too far back, it has less power to hit the ball.
