How many times were you angry and nervous when your player didn't catch the ball on the roll or follow... How many times were you frustrated when your player didn't react proper way in defense while denying passes or playing over play... It is about HANDWORK. And now ask yourself how many times you worked such things at practice. How many minutes you spent to develope HANDWORK? Like everything, we must teach and players must learn proper HANDWORK, we must develope proper position, quickness, reactions...in offense and defense. HANDWORK is very underrated when it comes to practices. What we do, more or less, is yelling "hands, hands, hands..." from sideline and expecting that players will do it. It doesn't go like that.

And what is handwork? HANDWORK is system of moves and positions which enable players to use hands as their weapon...on both sides of the floor. HANDWORK is a habit and we must develope this habit by the drills developing moving technique.

Here is the player development clinic that talks about developing HANDWORK. Clinic that will give you ideas, tips and drills to teach your players proper HANDWORK. Maybe some drills are not really interesting and difficult, but with such drills we will "buy" our players and will develope better HANDWORK...and win more games. We must convince our player that handwork is important...also by showing them clips of good and bad defense, and how different should be if the HANDWORK would be better.

We have introduction to clinic, basic handwork drills, handwork drills for offense and handwork drills for defense...but all the drills develope HANDWORK (together with FOOTWORK) for all levels and all phases of the game.

It is a new variation of the Pick&Roll that has taken the NBA (and other basketball levels) by storm this year. The "Spain" Pick&Roll occurs when a screen is set for the ball handler, then a third player sets a screen on the player defending the man rolling to the rim. BLOB sets in this course come from top European teams such as Zalgiris, CSKA, Olympiacos, Real Madrid, Khimki, Baskonia, Zenit, Olimpija... One of the new trends in international basketball is creation of the shot from POST UP positions or let me say POST UP creation for your SHOOTERS. Such situations became popular for a simple reason: SHOOTER (most of the time) sets BACK SCREEN (RIP) for big man and forces his defender (X2) to HELP / BUMP, therefore is late to defend HOF or DHO situations with SHOOTERS. The other popular concepts are STAGGER from HELP side or FLARE from BALL side. Another reason for such situation is that SHOTS that become from passes from LOW POST are easy to CATCH and % is higher than normal.

One of the World's Basketball trend is Pick&Roll game where Big Man (PF/C) plays as Ballhandler and Perimeter as Screener. Such Plays are Hard to Defend because It is mostly Surprise and Screener is normally Great SHOOTER, so his Defender will be Focused only on Him and won't be Ready to HELP. In this course we will discuss different ideas, different use of OFF - BALL screens and different playtypes to help screen receiver to get open. OFF - BALL screen is offensive action where one offensive player sets screen on the defender who's not guarding player with the ball, helping his teammate to get open and to come to better position to receive the ball. We will discuss screener's and screen receiver's responsibilities and how to use different OFF - BALL playtypes. We will also learn about terminology when we talk about basketball tactics.

I divide OFF - BALL screen action into four basic groups and inside each group we have more special playtypes, more special situations to create from OFF - BALL screens.

In this course / clinic we talk about different rim finishes, which are absolutely necessary in modern basketball. There are athletic big men which will block classic lay ups.

Iverson Cut aka LOOP entry is one of the most popular entries in half-court systems. It allows teams to create from the top or from the side.

The basic of Iverson Cut (because Philadelphia 76ers were using this entry to create position for Allen Iverson on empty side to play Isolation) is "double Flare" screen on the top, mainly by 4 and 5 for 2 or 3. LOOP entry also allows us to make a lot of decoy or fake moves and put players into right spacing.

Systems that come from Iverson Cut can have variety of exit, basicaly all of them: empty side Pick&Rolls, top Pick&Rolls, Pin Downs, Flare screens, but also misdirection plays, different "Hoax" and systems to create shots for your Stretch Bigs.
