About

Xavier Worthy is a professional American football wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL). Born on April 27, 2003, in Fresno, California, he attended Central East High School, where he excelled in both football and track. Initially committing to the University of Michigan, Worthy ultimately chose to play college football at the University of Texas at Austin.

During his tenure with the Texas Longhorns from 2021 to 2023, Worthy made an immediate impact. As a freshman, he set school records with 62 receptions for 981 yards and 12 touchdowns, surpassing marks previously held by Roy Williams. His standout performance included a record-breaking 261 receiving yards against Oklahoma. Over his three-year college career, Worthy accumulated 197 receptions, 2,755 receiving yards, and 26 touchdowns, ranking him among the top receivers in Texas history.

At the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, Worthy showcased his exceptional speed by setting a new 40-yard dash record with a time of 4.21 seconds. This performance led to his selection by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season with the Chiefs, Worthy continued to impress, recording 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns. His contributions were pivotal in the Chiefs' journey to Super Bowl LIX.

Off the field, Worthy is engaged to Tia Jones, a decorated track and field athlete. The couple announced their engagement in July 2024.

Worthy's journey from a standout high school athlete to a key player in the NFL underscores his dedication, talent, and passion for the game.
