The Coach

Josie Henry, Kyla Holas, Sami Ward, Trisha Ford, Amanda Scarborough

Kyla Holas

Kyla Holas is the owner of More Than a Game and a current USA Softball coach, working with both youth and national-level teams. Based in Houston, Texas, she brings a wealth of experience as a longtime Division I head coach before transitioning into mentoring the next generation of athletes. Kyla is passionate about player development, team culture, and helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.

Sami Ward

Sami Ward spent 18 years coaching at the collegiate level before moving into the private sector and embracing her role as a full-time mom. She first learned to pitch from her father, a men’s fastpitch pitcher who picked up the game during his time in the Navy. Sammie brings a unique blend of family tradition, experience, and passion for developing players at every level.

Josie Henry

Josie Henry is the Head Softball Coach at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she is entering her 14th season leading a Division III high-academic program. A mom of three, Josie also coaches 10U softball, giving her experience on both the collegiate and youth levels. She brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and perspective from guiding athletes of all ages.

Trisha Ford

Trisha Ford is the Head Softball Coach at Texas A&M University. A former collegiate hitter and corner infielder, Trisha discovered her path into coaching through necessity and passion when her team lacked a pitching coach. Over her career, she has led programs at every level, starting at St. Mary’s College before moving on to Pac-12 power Arizona State and now Texas A&M. In addition to her coaching career, Trisha is a proud mom of two and brings a family-first perspective to her work on and off the field.
