Head Coach at Youngstown State

Jerrod Calhoun is currently the head coach for Youngstown State. Calhoun is heading a Youngstown State Program that was previously struggling and has recorded three straight winning seasons. Calhoun has also led the Penguins to just their second NCAA postseason appearance, with a Collegeinsider.com Tournament nomination, however, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before Youngstown State, Calhoun headed Fairmont State and had massive success at the D-II level. At Fairmont, Calhoun accomplished a 124-38 record over five seasons, made the NCAA Tournament three straight seasons, was runner up in the 2016-17 season, and was named 2017 Mountain East Conference Coach of the Year. Calhoun worked under Bob Huggins at Walsh and West Virginia, being part of an NAIA National Championship with Walsh and five NCAA Tournament appearances with West Virginia including a Final Four and Sweet 16.
