    • Body Positions: Liberty and Liberty Variations

      Liberty on Left Leg:
      • Shift weight to the left foot and lift the right hip.
      • Bend the right knee and attach the right foot to the left leg.
      • The left knee should be locked and the right thigh completely straight.
      • Lift arms up for balance.

      Variation (Heel Stretch):
      • Stand in the Liberty Position.
      • Straighten the right leg and grab at the ankle.
      • Once this move is mastered, go on to grabbing the foot.
      • Use the stomach muscles to maintain balance.

      Coaching Tip:
      Before attempting these skills freestanding, have your cheerleaders practice them while leaning against a wall or using a chair for balance.
