Ch 16 Water Safety Resting Skills
These are critical skills to learn now in the shallow end of the pool where you can stand up and build your confidence to float in any depth. You simply have to squat down and start to lift your feet slowly off the bottom to feel yourself floating. You can also lie down on the top concrete step into a pool in only 6-8” of water. So practice floating in a variety of positions by keeping air in your lungs and learn to breathe off the top 10%. It helps to bend over at your waist to keep more of your chest level for better weight distribution.
