Before recently taking over as the Head Coach of the Sydney Kings of the NBL, Will Weaver was one of the brightest young assistant coaches in the NBA. Will has been on the coaching staff’s of the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Nets where he worked with brilliant coaches on a daily basis. Will is also an assistant coach for the Australian Boomers (Australia’s Senior Men’s National Team) as well as the Head Coach of the Long Island Nets of the NBA’s G-League. Coach Richey just finished his second season as the Head Coach at Furman. This season he led the Paladins to their best start in school history (12-0) en route becoming ranked in the AP Poll for the first time in school history. Furman was ranked for 3 consecutive weeks. While reaching a #23 ranking, Furman took down some of the nation's elite including two teams that made last season's Final Four: Loyola-Chicago and defending national champion Villanova.

Coach Mike Boynton just finished his second season as the Head Coach at OSU. With six wins over ranked opponents in his first season, including a school-record four top-10 victories, it’s safe to say the foundation has been laid for Mike Boynton’s brand of basketball at Oklahoma State.

Built on the mantra, “Let’s Work,” the 2017-18 Cowboys tied the school record with 15 home wins, advanced to the third round of the NIT and posted six victories over Sweet 16 squads. In Boynton’s first season at the helm, OSU notched 21 wins and became the first team since 2001 to sweep a regular-season series with Kansas.

Prior to leading the Cowboys, he was thought of as one of the nation's top up-and-coming Assistant Coaches at Oklahoma State, Stephen F. Austin, South Carolina, Wofford, Coastal Carolina and Furman after finishing up a standout career as a player at South Carolina.

In this video, Dwane spoke about the importance of player development in the offseason, some key defensive strategies and drills that he incorporates, some great ideas for implementing competition into your practices daily and how you should “BOUNCE BACK” from tough situations just as he did when being fired by the Toronto Raptors after such a great season and landing in Detroit ready to lead the Pistons back to the NBA Playoffs.

Ryan Saunders is the youngest Head Coach in the NBA, but he is mature beyond his years. Ryan’s got a great coaching pedigree, his leadership style and teaching ability is off the charts! In this session, he taught a “Family of Plays” from Chin, Open and Hawk sets with Counters, and then expanded by teaching Shot Values and Concepts. Ryan is a great young coach that the coaches in attendance and our staff were excited to learn from!

Sacramento Kings Assistant Coach Roy Rana is a dynamic teacher who brought incredible content in his first visit as a speaker at Coaching U. Roy relates his experiences coaching the Canadian National Team as well as coaching the “World Team” at the Nike Hoops Summit each year with the time challenges involved with each in preparing a team. One of the most critical parts of a basketball game are the last 4 minutes, better know as CRUNCH TIME. In this video, Brendan breaks down several sets in great detail and shows you how to set-up and attack the defense throughout the game by disguising plays for use ONLY during Crunch Time. Brendan also shares many After Timeout plays (including a great SOB play for a quick score) for you to incorporate with your team as well as his go-to “2 Minute Offense” for you to use when trailing late in a game.
