Brendan Walsh- OL Fundamentals in Gap Scheme
In this course, Coach Hand pointed out that so often the line takes the blame when the QB is hit or sacked. He wants to ensure that all of his offensive linemen block the correct defender and do their jobs. The reality is that a receiver not knowing he is hot, or breaking at the wrong point, the QB not knowing what unblocked defender is his, or the back making an error account for those pressures and sacks as well. He notes that the OL Coach needs to lead everyone in this regard and understand their role in protecting the QB.
After stressing the importance of communication, Coach Hand delves into the drills that allow them to protect the quarterback successfully. Of course, none of that matters if it doesn't translate to game day. Coach Hand provides plenty of game videos to point out exactly how these techniques are executed on game day.
This course is nearly two hours long and provides the details you need to keep the QB protected this season.
