Week Two: Dribbling Turns and Moves

Take pride in all that you have taught your players already.

In this week, we will present the concept of multi-directional dribbling through turns, moves and other technical skills. These techniques will build upon the basic dribbling concepts that we looked at last week so make sure that your team is ready to move forward before you introduce them to new skills. Included in this section are fun-filled drills and games to develop each player's ability to possess the ball while on-the-move and help them practice changing directions with the ball. Remember that diagrams are available for every drill to help familiarize you and your team with the many different concepts that we look at throughout the weeks.

As your season progresses, take time with your team to review key skills from earlier weeks in addition to introducing new concepts. Repetition of key skills helps young players to develop muscle memory and to build confidence using the techniques they are learning. Look in the introduction section of each week for a list of drills and tips that we recommended reviewing along with that week's lesson.
