    Wolf and Piglets Drill

     view description
    • Wolf and Piglets Drill:
The purpose of this drill is to give players the chance to practice their dribbling and ball control skills in a fun environment. The drill involves "The Wolf" and "Piglets".
Progression: The Wolf chooses a basic dribbling move for the piglets to perform, such as boxing or toe taps. As the piglets perform this technique, they call out, 'What's the time, Mr./Mrs. Wolf?'
The Wolf then calls out a time - for instance, 2 o'clock. Each player, still using the same dribbling technique, moves forward two steps (for 2 o'clock). For a call of '6 o'clock,' players move forward six steps. The Wolf can choose a different technique for the players to perform. Players again call out, 'What's the time Mr./Mrs. Wolf?' and play proceeds.
When the players get close enough (in the Wolf's estimation), the Wolf calls out, 'Dinner time!' At this, the piglets should turn tail and dribble as fast as they can to their cone and stopping the ball with good control. The Wolf tries to catch one of them, either through a simple tag or by stealing the ball.
Any piglet caught then becomes an Assistant Wolf and in future rounds tries to catch remaining
piglets. Players also can be penalized if they fail to properly stop the ball by their cone.
Play proceeds until there are only two piglets.
To put more pressure on dribbling players, they can be brought farther forward.
