    UVA Drill

     view description
    • UVA Drill:
This is a confusing drill; it will take some time to get this. A Coach will need to tell players when they need to go in and when they get off the field

      Set Up:
      • 3 Lines of Green across the endline; Rydo, hash marks. Balls in middle line
      • 2 Lines of White; one at each hash mark and Timeline. Balls with one line or the other, not both
      • To start the drill put two guys on "defense"; White
      • Split your team in half, half of each position in each color
      • You can keep score
      • Positions do not matter; colors do matter
      Drill:
      • Coach sounds whistle
      • First players in each line below GLE come out to play vs. the 2 "defender;" 3 v 2
      • As soon as that play is over, coach blows whistle signaling end 3 v 2 and the start of next play
      • The 3 Green guys that were on offense are now on defense
      • The 2 guys that were playing defense are now on offense with the first guy in each hash mark-Rydo line
      • As soon as play is over, coach blows whistle signaling end 3 v 2 and the star of the next play
      • First guy in each line across endline come in on offense vs. 2 last two guys to come in from the White lines
      • Repeat; 3 v 2 to 4 v 3 to 3 v 2 to 4 v 3.....
      • Guys below GLE; offense, defense, off field
      • Guys above GLE: offense, defense, offense, off field
      Issues:
      • Guys forget what they are suppose to do at whistle
      • Middle line must bring ball in
      • The one line with balls at Time line must bring balls in
      • When the ball goes on ground they will stop playing
      Options:
      • After allotted time move lines on endline to timeline, move the timeline lines to the endline
      • Keep score: goal = 1 point, defense possession = 1 point, shot out of bound = push if offense backs it up
  • 29

    7 v 0 & 6 v 0
  • 30

    6 v 0
