    • Tutorial Showing a Sweep, Also Called High Level Single Leg Take Down Or Swing Single, For Beginners. It should be one of the first things you learn in folkstyle and freestyle wrestling. This step by step breakdown goes over some key points to the shot and how to do the shot correctly.

The head inside sweep single leg takedown is a basic leg attack that is one of the most utilized in wrestling from neutral or standing. The sweep is good because your body is on the outside or behind your opponent, making it hard for them to sprawl.

When you shoot a head inside single, you want to use your head to drive the leg up. If you try to pick up, as opposed to driving in, your opponent has a chance to sprawl. You want to make sure you get the leg tight, if not your opponent can kick his leg out.

There are lots of setups you can use, but the setup in this video is a quick head snap. There are also a lot of different finishes that could be utilized, but this finish uses movement to set up a footsweep or trip.

This video is good for people who are new to wrestling and looking for instruction, for people just beginning or learning wrestling, or for anyone who wants to improve their wrestling basics or fundamentals.

Recently, I started a wrestling-based charity. It is called "Wrestling Shoes For you" and is aimed at donating wrestling gear (shoes, headgears, kneepads, etc.) to underprivileged youth. If you could stop my Facebook page and give it a like/possibly donate any old gear you have laying around, it will help a great cause.
