Drive & Wrap Drill
This drill is excellent in developing the proper drive out of the back and necessary wrap so important in the middle of the ring. The first emphasis of this drill is the drive out of the back of the ring. The athlete must lead with a wide right leg leading with the thigh. once the right leg passes the left leg the athlete drives of the left. Once the athlete drives off the left they must work to actively turn the right leg & hip back underneath them in a corckscrew fashion. The athlete grabbing onto the pole helps them to feel the wrap that should be created as the upper body works to stay passive until the left foot hits in the front of the ring.
