Lesson 4:
Wind to Unwind
Coming out of the back of the ring on balance is key to the success of the throw. This drill is great for developing the proper position of balance when coming out of the back. The thrower must begin in balance to finish in balance. In the wind the right foot needs to be flat to provide a solid base to start from. On the unwind the hips should shift to the left and the left knee opening up slightly. Also the weight of the left side should be on the inside of the ball of the left foot. At the same time the right knee should drive out. Doing this movememnt will help to ensur ethat the knees and therfor the legs will stay wide coming out of the back of the ring.
