Drill Objective

To allow players to refine their passing and possession skills in a semi-pressurized environment.

Drill Setup
Mark out a 20-x-20-yard square. Split your players into pairs. Four players are placed on the perimeter of the area, one on each line of the square. Two pairs at a time play against each other within the grid. To maintain possession, players dribble and pass to each other and to the perimeter players. The perimeter players can move along their line, but they cannot pass to each other and are limited to two touches per possession. Possession switches to the other team upon successful tackles or wild passes. Teams attempt to complete 10 consecutive passes. Players in the square and players on the perimeter should rotate frequently to maintain energized play.
