    4 v. 2 Possession in a Grid

     view description
    • 4 v. 2 Possession in a Grid:
      • Dynamic drill that allows players to practice components of dribbling and shooting in full-game realistic situation.
      • Once the Defensive team passes out the ball, the game begins on a 1 v. 1 basis and does not end until a goal is scored. Players will switch ends after every goal.
      • Technical Notes: Attackers should use the entire playing space to spread out the defenders. Also, they should keep moving along their side of the grid to give the player with the ball passing options.
      • When receiving passes, attackers should use the first touch to move away from defensive pressure and toward a teammate.
      • Defenders should work hard and apply as much pressure as possible. Switch out defenders every 2-3 minutes.
      • Progression: Points can be awarded to the attackers for every 10 consecutive passes (one point) and for each splitting pass (two points). Defenders can earn one point for each intercepted pass.
