    Ball-Striking Technique

     view description
    • Ball-Striking Technique:
      • Players use the in-step pass when looking to pass between 5-10 yards. When kicking the ball, the non-kicking foot needs to go next to the ball, pointing in the direction of the pass. The inside of the striking foot kicks through the center of ball. Teach players to call out: "Step, pass, follow-through."
      • When striking the ball farther than 5-10 yards, players should use the "laces" area and strike through the center of the ball.
      • A player stretches his non-kicking foot over the ball and locks his ankle at a 90-degree angle to keep the ball low and down.
      • Make sure the player's body is curved over the ball and his toes are pointed down. The player's head should be over the ball and facing down.
