    Passing and Laying Up

     view description
    • Passing and Laying Up
      • The purpose of this drill is to work on passing and receiving the ball while in motion without defensive pressure.
      • Players should concentrate on 'overstepping' - placing the non-kicking foot past the middle and to the side of the ball. This helps to ensure the passer's head, frame and knee of the kicking foot are over the ball when striking it.
      • Progression: The passer approaches the ball and delivers a pass to the receiver, who once again lays the ball back and backpedals five yards. In this manner, the pair passes back and forth to the far line, where they switch roles and return to the starting line.
