    Dribbling Drill

     view description
    • Dribbling Drill:
      • This game forces your players to get their heads up while dribbling.
      • Progression: Players touch the ball with the inside of their feet only as they dribble around the first cone, and the outside of their feet only around the second cone. This practices cutting, cutting and more cutting!
      • Progression: Players perform a figure eight through a mini-goal, dribbling using both feet.
      • Progression: Players perform a dragback turn ('Heel, toe, let it go.') as they approach the mini-goal, changing directions after the turn.
      • Progression: Players perform a stepover turn as they approach the goal. To perform a stepover while dribbling, a player places her non-kicking foot by the ball, steps over the ball with her kicking foot to make an 'L' with foot and leg, then moves this leg back to flick the ball back with her leg. The player follows the ball to execute the actual turn and change of direction.
      • Progression: Players dribble within the area, and as they approach a mini-goal they speed through it, then slow down again as they continue to dribble. This allows players to practice acceleration and deceleration while dribbling and keeping the ball close.
