- The pitcher's hips should be closed on presentation.
  
  The hips open up during the stride to the catcher.
  
  When the hips are open, it allows the pitching arm to pass through with the ball and the wrist to snap properly.
  
  After the wrist snap, the hips close to finish.
  
  If the hips are closed, the arm cannot pass through the pitching zone.
